Aerosol CansAerosol Cans can be recycled via your kerbside collection scheme or local recycling banks. You may also bring Aerosol cans to you Local Recycling Centre. AluminiumAluminium can be recycled via your kerbside collection scheme for cans and smaller Aluminium objects. Larger aluminium objects can be taken to your local recycling centre or scrap metal merchants. Aluminium containersCan usually be recycled by putting them in aluminium can banks and kerbside recycling containers. Please check with your District council that these items are acceptable in the collection scheme operating in your area. It is advisable to scrunch small pieces of aluminium foil together into a larger ball as this helps the sorting process. Aluminium containers can also be taken to your local recycling centre. Whilst the majority of cans are recycled back into new cans in a 'closed loop' system, aluminium foil is reprocessed into products such as car engine components. Aluminum foilAluminium foil can be put into can banks and kerbside recycling boxs in some districts please check with your authority. Aluminium cans and foil have a different composition. AppliancesIf still in good condition sell via newspaper or phone a Furniture Project to get it picked up. Furniture Project Groups will test these items and pass them on to people on low income. You can also take appliances to Recycling Centre or phone your District Council for Bulky Household Items collection. All domestic appliances are sorted at Recycling Centre for recycling or disposal. AsbestosAsbestos (White Asbestos included!) cannot be recycled and due to the material being a hazardous waste, must be disposed off safely to designated sites only.
